வாடிகனிலிருக்கும் பிரதான குருவே
அவரது பாதையிலிருக்கும் விமானம்
ஆயிரமைல் தொலைவினிலே
அவரது களங்கமற்ற அங்கியில் தாக்க செய்து
வழுக்கைக் குல்லாய் அணிந்த தலையையும்
அன்பு கனிந்த முகத்தையும்
ஆராய்ச்சியும் ஆர்வமிக்கக் கண்களையும்
சுருண்ட பட்டின்மேல் ஓரடியில்
பூமகளுக்கு அவரது முத்தங்கள்
அவரது பெருமைகளை உள்ளங்கையில் வைத்து உயர்த்து
ஆயிரங்கள் ஆசிர்வாதமும்
அவர்களுக்கு ஆறுதல் அளிக்கும்
அவரே அவரது நம்பிக்கையாம்
அமைதியின் அரசே
ஏசுநாதரின் தூதனே
மனித வர்க்கத்தின் காதலனே
கொடுமைகளைத் திறனாய்பவனே
இரக்கமும் இணக்கமுமே அவரது மூச்சும் போதனையுமாம்
அய்யோ! பாவமே! துப்பாக்கிக் குண்டின் கூட்டில் அல்லவா அந்த துறவி
நகர்த்துங்கள் ஆயிரமைல் பாதைக்கு
துரிதமான கண்களையும் பிரகாசமான் உருவத்தையும் அடைவீர்கள்
முட்டாள் மனிதர்களின் குண்டிற்குப் பலியான பெருமைக்குரியவரே
இவ்வுலகினில் செப்பம் செய்யும் தூதரும்
இவ்வுலகிற்கு ஊழியும் செய்யும் கடவுளின் சேவகர்களும்
மூடர்களும் கடமையிலிருந்து தவறியவரும்
அவரது மதிப்பையும் சேவையையும் அறியாது!
மூடர்களின் உலகமே! இழிவானவர்களின் உலகமே!

From Hallowed Vatican
He jets his way
Thousands of miles away
And descends he, in spotless robes -
A fine figure
A balding and capped head,
A kindly face
Enquiring and eager eyes -
With soft steps on the rolled velvet.
He kisses Mother Earth.
Raises his gloried palm
Blesses the thousands
And gives them solace.
The Pope is their Hope.
The Prince of Peace
The Messenger of Jesus
The lover of Humanity
The Critic of Oppression
The symbol of good - ness
Breathes and preaches harmony and compassion.
Alas, this Saint, in a bullet - proof cage,
Moves, with thousands on the Pavements
Getting a fleeting eyeful of the effulgent figure,
For he is too precious to be a prey to the Mad Man's bullet.
A messenger to reform the World.
And God's servant to serve the World.
Has also stray and mad men who
Know not his worth or Mission!
A mad world! A Bad World!!

கொடுமைகளைத் திறனாய்பவனே
இரக்கமும் இணக்கமுமே அவரது மூச்சும் போதனையுமாம்
அய்யோ! பாவமே! துப்பாக்கிக் குண்டின் கூட்டில் அல்லவா அந்த துறவி
நகர்த்துங்கள் ஆயிரமைல் பாதைக்கு
துரிதமான கண்களையும் பிரகாசமான் உருவத்தையும் அடைவீர்கள்
முட்டாள் மனிதர்களின் குண்டிற்குப் பலியான பெருமைக்குரியவரே
இவ்வுலகினில் செப்பம் செய்யும் தூதரும்
இவ்வுலகிற்கு ஊழியும் செய்யும் கடவுளின் சேவகர்களும்
மூடர்களும் கடமையிலிருந்து தவறியவரும்
அவரது மதிப்பையும் சேவையையும் அறியாது!
மூடர்களின் உலகமே! இழிவானவர்களின் உலகமே!
